The bulb fields bloom on their own schedule, and the difference between a good week and a perfect week is local knowledge. Our guides check the bloom reports every morning and plan each day's route around the fields that are at their peak right now — not the ones that were pretty last week.

You will drive the back roads of the Bollenstreek between Lisse and the coast, past striped rows of tulips, hyacinths and daffodils stretching to the horizon. We stop wherever the colour is best, and because we travel in a small vehicle, we can pull over on quiet lanes the big coaches cannot reach.

A highlight of the day is a visit to a working flower farm, where a grower shows you how bulbs are planted, harvested and prepared for export — and you can walk between the rows for photos. We time the last stop for the warm late-afternoon light, and if you would like to add Keukenhof to the day, we can arrange that too.

Good to know: the flower fields bloom from late March to early May, starting with crocuses and daffodils, then hyacinths and finally the famous tulips. Because the fields are private farmland, we take you to the best viewing spots where photos are welcome. The exact route changes each week to follow the colour, so every tour sees the fields at their brightest.
